After doing one of those missions to kill a number of criminal traffic vehicles at a station, I have non as in zero criminal traffic at other stations visited after the mission.
Is this something others experience too?
A bit odd, perhaps, is that at the kill mission at some point, what seemed like an extreme amount of criminal traffic was generated.
So instead of having one or two vehicles to hunt there was perhaps four or more.

In the past it has usually been the case that these missions initially convert normal mass traffic ships to criminal just one at a time every 30-60 sec or so but, after a several minutes of that happening, the conversions start happening much more frequently to allow the player to complete the mission in a reasonable time. When they are appearing more frequently and the player is not killing them as fast as they appear, then several will be around at the same time - dependent upon their individual appearance and subsequent redocking or destruction rates. A few more may even appear after the mission has completed.
I don't think the mission affects how the routine random criminal conversions at that or other stations should occur, but more due to the RNG and the characteristics of the factions involved.

Well some of the more shady factions have no criminal traffic. I guess smuggling might be 'business as usual' there.
