[Suggestion/QoL] Visual selection of sectors for global orders

Post by azaghal »

Player can create different types of global orders that involve sectors - blacklists and whitelists for sector travel, activites etc. Sector selection can be done either based on some broader common property (faction ownership/hostility, presence of hazards), or by selecting individual sectors.

Selecting individual sectors can be very useful or player when trying to have a more fine-grained control over the list. This can help in cases where sectors can change ownership, or when even a friendly sector can be considered dangerous for player ships (like Hatikvah's Choice I).

The problem with current approach to individual sector selection is that the player can select the sectors by name only, and thus often needs to know off the top of the head which sector is which, where it is positioned etc.

It would be great if it were possible for player to add/remove sectors to/from specific lists directly on the map (in addition to selecting sector by name in global orders menu). This way the player could more easily make a decision based on sector location, ownership, or proximity to other sectors and objects.

The interface for this could be added to the sector's information tab (maybe in a separate tab), where player would simply see a list of global orders with checkboxes (like a "reverse" checkbox list compared to what is seen in the global orders menu).
