The new ticker on the start screen disappeared

Hi,

I just noticed that the news ticker on the start screen disappeared.

I believe this part of the game came out along with Timelines. I noticed it when I first saw it but then forgot about it when I didn't see it again.

I recently got the game again on GOG and I saw the news ticker again when I first loaded up the game. But then the next time I loaded up the game it was gone.

Obviously this is no a big deal but after seeing it again I sort of would have liked for it to stick around. It adds some life to the game. Is it supposed to go away? I didn't really get a chance to read all of it.

I'm also wondering if I might have caused it to go away because I went into the settings to chance the start screen scene that plays from Default to Cradle of Humanity. I tried changing it back to default, then timelines, and then random but the new ticker didn't return. Is there a way to get it back?
