Can PAR/HOP be made to coexist with TRI?

Can PAR/HOP be made to coexist with TRI?

Obviously they're not meant to, but the thought just crossed my mind. I was grabbing a Defence Platform build mission, just in case I need to use one to resurrect a faction later. Has anyone ever done that with PAR/HOP, giving them ship building facilities after they officially ceased to exist?

Did they just carry on as a separate faction? Or get merged? Does the mission even survive the end of the issuing faction?

I don't know about the build defense station mission ending
I think you would be able to complete it and the new station might be HOP or TRI.

I did notice that if you finish the Paranoid civil war before activating the Split DLC then when you do activate Split Vendetta there are PAR stations in Litany of Fury. However, they don't last. As soon as a TRI ship gets near them the ownership will change to TRI.

So I'm thinking that if you finish a HOP station after the unification then it is only a matter of time before it gets flipped.

It would be nice if the still remaining faction reps for HOP and PAR would give some missions so that we're not forever stuck at less than 30 rep on the faction rep screen. Shrug, or maybe that's just the ocd talking.

Totally get the "OCD" need to get HOP and PAR to 30 before switching to TRI.

Technically it should be doable, since HOP and PAR are separate factions, but might need modding to re-enable their ship jobs. Stations only though might work as-is, although HOP won't have many factions trade with them, and they need shops more

Intriguing question, I'm curious about this too. Will try doing this during my next run, although that might be a while - probably won't start until after 7.50 gets out of beta. Was thinking of doing a Paranid Unification run next anyway, since I've never played the Paranid start before & 7.50 does make Zeus E significantly more useful. Anyway, thread's bookmarked. Will try to remember to report back on whether, or to what degree, PAR & HOP can be restored as factions post-Unification.
