(Bug) Sent to the Shadow Realm

Post by tomsellecksmustache »

Version: 7.10 Hotfix 3
Language: English
Mods: Not activated
Game Start: Project Genesis
Current Mission: HAT - Snooping Around
Save: https://drive.google.com/drive/folders/ ... drive_link
Note: Crash Reports and Crash Dumps page that teaches players how to upload crashes does not tell players how to locate save files. I would like to recommend that a brief statement on this be added to the page. I was able to locate my save files thanks to an existing thread from another player. Thanks :)
DxDiag and VulkanInfo files are located in the save link for simplicity.
Screen shots are also uploaded to the shared folder for simplicity.

Issue:

I entered Silent Witness XI for the first time on this save. I was teleported to a location off of the map. Please see screenshots for clarification. Currently, it will take me about 3/4 an hour to return to the map location. I will exit the system and re-enter once I do to see if this bug persists.

Thanks for the report. Oh and great username by the way! :D

I'm assuming that in your savegame you've already been teleported into the wilderness. If so then unfortunately it may be too late to work out how you got there. You don't happen to have one from just before you entered the sector, and where entering the sector causes it to happen again, do you?

There should be a save before in the link to the files. I would try looking at the autosaves. Let me know if you have any further questions or need help accessing the files.

The files aren't accessible; please make them public. :)

I just updated the permissions to "anyone with the link". Hopefully that works.

Unrelated to your X4 game issue, your graphics driver and hence Vulkan can be updated at the Nvidia update site, and you have an awful lot of sound devices and drivers all on the go at the same time. I would disable any sound devices and drivers you don't use in Control Panel, Device Manager, Sound/Audio Devices - right-click on a device in the listing for a disable/enable pop-up. Also you have a default generic Microsoft driver for your Realtek onboard sound chipset and I would get a Realtek driver should you keep that device.

Oh, I didn't even realize that. Thanks for the heads up.

I'm sorry but I don't have a save for it. I had many other things going on irl that distracted me.

The bug happened again while going from Antigone Memorial so Segaris. Upon reverting to an autosave before this and trying again, the bug did not replicate. It appears to be a specific trigger that sends the player off map. The only difference was that this time I was not sent to the SW corner of the map but rather the NE corner. Sorry again that I don't have a save to share for this one but I hope pointing out that this doesn't just occur when entering a system for the first time helps.
