How to write mod to increase carriers S storage

I've never written a mod for this game, though I have for some other games. I have about 1k hours on my lightly modded save atm (KudaAI, XenonJobs+, XenonProliferation etc)

Is it possible to easily write a mod to increase S storage on carriers? I find the older Zeus and Colossus models far more desirable with their pre-nerf fighter storage, but the E models are so much more gorgeous, especially the Colossus.

I found this post (viewtopic.php?t=443401) but not sure how to actually put it into a mod.

I just want to increase the E carrier models to have the same storage as their pre E counterparts, and I couldn't find any mods that do this.
