The Fate of the Yaki, can't find Delilah Shiratori

Post by Teladinator »

Hello,

I have been having an issue for a couple of days, and it seems to not be resolving itself. I cannot find Delilah Shiratori anymore; she is not in her secret room, and I also can't find the freighter she is supposed to be on, Sweet Jack. I don't get a waypoint to her location.

I have two related quests: "Save Them from Themselves: Conceal the Location of the Yaki HQ" and "The Smoking Gun: Talk to Delilah Shiratori."
The Amplifier Station is destroyed - completed.
Flee from the system - completed.
Conceal the location of the Yaki HQ - open.

The Smoking Gun:
Listen to Haile's proposition - completed
Talk to: Delilah Shiratori - open

The "Terran vs Argon" quest i completed long time ago and they are at war.

Is there any way I can find out for myself where she is by looking in the save game XML, or do only the developers have the necessary tools to examine the save game data?

From the savegame xml, files related to Delilah. Maybe it is of any use:

<mission id="806431" active="1" priority="16" time="949496.715" name="The Smoking Gun" description="Operative, I don't mean to alarm you, but it appears to me that you may have new information about your investigation that you may want to share. My observers tell me that you ventured out into the unknown, and the Terran Secret Service would dearly like to know what it is that you have found. It goes without saying that Commander Lee and his Intervention Corps are ready to pounce, should we give the word." icon="briefing_deliah_shiratori_01" caption="Delilah Shiratori" faction="terran" type="plot" level="easy" rewardtext="A Job Well Done" abortable="0">

As long as this amplifier station exists, it will always pose a threat to humanity, so we have to destroy it. I don't think they expect sabotage, but we'll have to be quick, so plan accordingly. Our only advantage is that apart from the hard-liners and our small group of conspirators, many Yaki seem to be pretty accepting of their fate right now, so we might not have to deal with the entire sector when everything goes nova.[\012][\012]Afterwards? I have a feeling that you may have completed plot missions out of order (perhaps such as destroying the Amplifier before other mission steps intended to happen before that) leaving you with different open missions that now expect Delilah to be in two different places at once: such as on a station in Mars and on Sweet Jack elsewhere. That might be confusing the mission guidance, but all just a theory.

I did not touch the amplifier in "Savage Spur I" before I got the quest.

However, I did blow up another amplifier structure in "Tharka's Cascade XVII" before the one in "Savage Spur I", as I was clearing those Xenon sectors. I don’t remember this structure being related to the Yaki plot.

Right now, out of curiosity, I blew up the Yaki HQ, and the quests are now gone. I got the following messages in the log:

The Smoking Gun:
The investigation ended before the Terrans could be informed about the Yaki's whereabouts.

Save Them From Themselves:
With the amplifier station destroyed, the threat to Sol subsides.

The Fate of the Yaki:
You have completed or failed all objectives belonging to the mission.

Obviously, that’s not the outcome I want.

Is there any way to find Sweet Jack with a tool, mod, or via XML to check if Delilah is there, or is the savegame toast?

Yes, the mission director sounds very confused, and which is why I suspect the separate mission progresses had led to conflict over what happens next and where concerning Delilah. It *might* sort itself out now that one of the missions in contention has completed, but I wouldn't guarantee it.

A link to an uploaded vanilla save showing the impasse would likely be needed if the devs are to investigate this situation and help you.
