[SUGGESTION] Presets for Enabling/Disabling mod lists

Post by Mr_Blastman »

This would be very useful for those that like to play various mod flavors.

Sometimes I want to play VRO and 30 or 40 other mods sprinkled in.

Other times I want to play Star Wars Interworlds which... is obviously incompatible with most of that stuff.

And on a rare occasion I might want to play stock game.

A mod list selector we save in game, so we can load a list of predefined activated mod files from that list (which will disable anything not on the list) would be ideal. This would be insanely helpful. This could be done in a single click, where the game will be directed to automatically enable/disable all installed mods to whatever the list directs. Switching between modded game types would be simplified and not require users taking screenshots of their entire(sometimes lengthy) list and hand selecting/deselecting mods, one by one.

How about this, Egosoft?

I'd like this. Something where we can save the list of mods for a specific save games, and enable them for that save game. Some save games I have a very specific list of mods that I use, and remembering all that I had previously activated can be a pain.

+1 on the suggestion; be even better if the game also auto-restarts instead of us having to manually do it.

If you pop open your save XML file, the very top has a "patches" section that should give the mod ID and the mod name (hopefully author remembered to fill in the "name" part). I know it's not convenient, but at least it is possible to figure out what mods are installed for a save.

Info is there; game just needs to run a loop and collect all the mod names into a list to show the user
