stop carriers automatically ordering subordinates to dock when giving move order

I'll be the arbiter of which subordinates should stay flying and which should dock. If i order a ship to move it should move. what it should not do, is **** around with its subordinates during a time sensitive situation. just move. thank you.

Position Defence (PD) groups do dock only to refuel. Not when idle nor when Carrier moves. PD does also pick targets within 20 km, unlike the other assignments that use Carrier's scanner range (40 km). Whether that is good or bad is debatable. Furthermore, PD is affectively "Attack All enemies", unlike the Intercept and Bombard roles. That is somewhat inconvenient.

The non-PD fighters do dock at the Carrier when they have no active orders. Yes, you might have a need to reposition the Carrier while its squadrons are still busy, but is that indicator of poor planning on your behalf? Think Carrier as artillery. Artillery has to pack up before it moves to next firing position. They don't shoot while on the run.


That said, the feeling that player has (more) control (than before) can make the player a bit happier.
