attacking a Xenon I and attempting to cycle surface elements to find the specific turret shooting at you using next/previous keys is madness.
I request three hotkeys for cycling subtargets by type:
- Turret - choose the closest turret, then cycle through each turret on successive presses
- Shield - choose the closest shield, then cycle through each shield on successive presses
- Engine - choose the closest engine, then cycle through each engine on successive presses
This would make me very happy.
Thanks.
PS: pausing the game and clicking on the turret with the mouse is not a solution.
1 - I don't want to pause the game
2 - at 5k distance the turret is hard/impossible to click on
3 - I need to be able to do this regardless if I'm running away or hiding behind something - so the turret wouldn't be on-screen.

Before 6.x it was like that - next/previous cycled turrets, engines and shields as groups.
Then it was changed to this current way (I'm not so big fan of this change) to cycle target near the aimpoint.
In this case I would have been happy if the change would be selectable from settings to stay in old method or current one.
Main reason is that usually you are not so urge to shoot shields next of turret but change to another turret which may not be the nearest of your aimpoint.

When I'm cycling to find the next turret, I'm running away and dodging near-insta-kill graviton turrets in a Katana/Hydra
If I could click on the turret from 6k that would help - having to get into instant-death range to click on it is a frequent reason I suddenly die and load a save from 90 minutes ago.
