Crash on Start Since 7.10

Game previously modded, but all mods disabled.
Not able to get to the point of playing
When I launch X4, the initial splash screen appears, followed by the Egosoft video, followed again by the splash screen. At this point, the game will crash to desktop.
The game is not reliably creating .dmp files for this. I have 1 .dmp file for this, but I've made it happen a dozen or so times.

If it gets that far before crashing then it sounds like your mods haven't been properly removed. Some mods, particularly those affecting the UI, add or modify files outside the intended extension folders, and can result in problems like this when the game is updated. Try a fresh, validated installation.
