Issue with not staying at correct speed in Menu
When I go to a menu in space while I am stopped my speed will increase to 50% and stay there while I am in the menu. The second I leave the menu my speed returns to 0%. Is there a way not to do this? I spend a lot of time in the map menu. Maintain speed in game options is currently set to "on".

Re: Issue with not staying at correct speed in Menu
This happens to me, too, and for me it's caused by my HOTAS throttle not being set to zero. Typically, I'll use the 'stop' key before I go to the map, with the result that the ship decides that the 'stop' key is ignored and starts moving at the throttle speed. It didn't used to do this before 7.0 or 7.1. It stayed stopped, until I reinitiated forward motion after exiting the map. Don't like the current implementation.

Re: Issue with not staying at correct speed in Menu
Just an uninformed question as I don't use a stick, but does changing the game setting toggle 'Maintain Speed in Menus' make any difference? I do recall from the past that different in-game setting toggles could sometimes have gameplay effects that seemed counter-intuitive.
If it makes no difference then I would recommend posting the issue in Tech Sp along with information about the game version and mod state, and links to or extracts of your current uidata and config files.

Re: Issue with not staying at correct speed in Menu
As I understand it, "Maintain speed in menus" just allows the game to not pause your ship. My issue is that the throttle setting overrides the "Stop" key when I go to a menu/map and the ship starts moving again. It has nothing to do with the toggle.
In my v6.2 GOG install, I'm flying along with the throttle set to high. I hit the stop key/button before going into the map. The ship stays stopped until I give it the 'go' command.
In my v7.1 Steam install, I'm flying along with the throttle set to high. I hit the stop key/button before going into the map. Upon entering the map, the ship starts moving, ignoring the stop command, but when I leave the map, the ship automatically stops again.
BTW, I always have the "maintain speed" toggle set to "on" because I often browse the map and other menus while traveling around. And my settings are identical in the two versions, as far as I can tell, except where 7.x may have changed the layout and added a few things.
EDIT: After a bit more testing between the two versions, it seems that the physical throttle setting is overriding the 'stop engines' function when going into map mode, but then reverting to the stop when exiting the map. I'm curious as to whether any other HOTAS users have had similar experiences.

Re: Issue with not staying at correct speed in Menu
Can confirm. Since 7.0 the game seems to read the throttle position when in map mode. I don't have "Maintain Speed in Menus" and the behaviour is still as described.Nanook wrote: ↑Sun, 18. Recap:
1. Throttle on "forward". Ship moves
2. Hit "stop". Ship stops. Throttle is ignored
3. Open map. Ship starts to move due to throttle position (even when Maintain Speed in Menus == no)
4. Close map. Ship stops
The 7.0 did change controlled support.

Interesting this is related to hotas - it also happens to me, and I only have keyboard + mouse. Started with 7.10 I think
