I have a Shipyard with only Terran modules.
Its prefered build method is set to Terran. Global prefered build method is Terran also. It also has Ship Sale ban for everyone except TER, PIO and myself.
I only own Terran Ship and Ship Module Blueprints.
It has worked flawlessly like that for hours.
Then a change occurs: I purchase Split Blueprints. All of them.
Now when I want to build a Syn, all Terran equipment, the Shipyard wants Commonwealth materials. I notice that it does this for Drones and Engines specifically.
What is happening?

Re: TER Shipyards wants Commonwealth goods
What's happening is likely because you now own blueprints that require commonwealth materials, so the shipyard automatically begins stocking those "just in case" you build those. If you don't want them stocking them, you can try to just override their storage allocation to 1 unit of each.
For the other problem, perhaps check to see if your station is still set to the Terran build method, and maybe toggle it back and forth.
When you build the Syn, there should be "+" plus sign buttons next to various components in the ship construction screen; Is that also saying that the drones and engines are using commonwealth materials instead of the Terran ones? If so, that may be a bug worth reporting, although I don't remember seeing this happen with my own shipyards.

Re: TER Shipyards wants Commonwealth goods
Hmm. So with both TER and commonwealth ship blueprints owned the, shipyard now functions with only non-TER build materials?
A bit uncertain about above, just for drones and engines now? ..or for all blueprints?
No intent to tangent or hijack, but this seems like a reasonable thread to refresh some forum/thread buried SY related stuff.

If a more robust configuration for them is not realistic (for devs to think-tank, adjust) among all the other game facets, maybe some other approach(es) to help with some of the more sore spots..
EG:
- station BP use similar to ware basket/sector blacklist -- only selected BP (per SY) are built. (not related to this issue, but would help be a ship provider to NPC)
- faction SY variations build only their faction ships, hence could expect a TER SY to only use TER mats.
- separate shipyard & maint modules functionality (IE: SY only builds, no repair & vice versa)
..logic here is maybe less work to implement and since they are advanced modules anyhow, a broad stroke like this adds useful granularity.
..a variety of other less overhaul like tweaks could help too probably.
Like for this topic/issue, being able to select what construction wares are used at a particular SY or maint.
Realistically it would be nice to control:
- what can and cannot be produced among owned BP
- who can use repair services irrespective of who can buy ships (IE: allow repair to PAR but not sales, etc)

Hi.
Sorry for the late response. Thank you for your replies!
It just fixed itself. Sort of like the first poster suggested. I switched prefered build method back and forth and after a while it just started working.
