Set my tractor beam to toggle on/off instead of hold to press what a godsend.
If I forget to disable it before I ctrl-d out of the pilots chair the sound remains playing till I sit down again and toggle it off. So in essence, I can become a human tractor beam.
[7.0] Tractor beam sfx stuck to "on" after getting up from pilot chair.

Why would you expect a Manticore to stop tractoring a wreck or cube just because you handed over to the reserve captain?
Did you mean the loot/container magnet? On a toggle setting the magnet shouldn't see any difference on change of pilot as it is the ship that is attracting the loot under ship controls and not the pilot personally. Or do you mean that the loot magnet sound follows you personally around even if you leave the ship?
If there is such a loot magnet problem then I would guess that therein lies the reason why it is not a toggle by default nor an offered in-game toggle option.

I'm saying the loot magnet sound effects keep playing after I get up from the pilot chair until I sit back down and switch it back off. Sorry poor wording.Alan Phipps wrote: ↑Tue, 6. Fair point about it not being officially offered in-game. I had forgotten I had enabled it via txt file

That sounds pretty logical; in my opinion a toggle means that the ship's loot magnet should stay on until switched off as it is a hull effect, regardless of any pilot changes. Are you perhaps saying that the magnet itself switches off when you get up, but the sound of it doesn't?

Correct. The sound follows you after you get up. Teleport to another ship/sector etc. You cannot switch it off till you sit down in a pilot seat and toggle it off from there.Alan Phipps wrote: ↑Tue, 6. Yes, now that I understand it would indeed seem an unintended/unforeseen problem and probably a reason why toggle is not offered as an in-game option as it is incompletely coded for such situations.
