[Bug?] My ships are stuck when the number exceeds the internal hanger capacity

Post by Littleship »

I have a lot of fighters, about 200. I want to modify their equipment in my shipyard.

At the beginning, the ships will modify their equipment normally and dock in the internal hangar to leave space for the next ship. However, when the internal hangar is fully filled, the entire queue will get stuck.

At this moment, although the new ship is showing as being supplied, it will actually remain stuck on the parking spot and no resupply will be made. :?

Besides, I tried on carriers and supply ships, found the same problem.

I have also checked all the resources to ensure that they are sufficient. Moreover, I conducted additional experiments - even if you only modified the software of the ship (which obviously does not consume any resources), this problem still cannot be avoided.

Does anyone know how to handle this issue? (Assuming I really don't have enough hanger space to store all the ships at once)

Still not figure out a method.

By the way, I am a newer, is this palce the used for reporting bugs? Or there is another specific place used to report bugs and the game developers will regularly check them?

This is the right place to report them. There is even a sticky thread, right at the top of the forum entitled "Technical Support Requests - Please read this before posting!" which tells you the information you need to provide if you want to report a problem.

Ever tried to give them a following command instead of leaving them docked?
Upgrading 200 ships at once is probably not something many people do all the time.
My current HQ has a S/M Fab and 4 S/M docks, capacity is 392, although i don't see if that is counting for any class of ships. But I would think so, all the S/M dock come with 60 additional ship capacity.
Any ways, you can upgrade your ships on regular docks when the station has a fabrication/equipment module, so adding more docks does help.

The problem that ships get trouble when the docking space is at capacity is a problem since day one of this game. Even if you are exactly at capacity of a carrier, sometimes ships can't dock and left behind. But usually carriers have more than enough space except for some of the new variants.

Thanks, I add a move command after the docking command.

However, it not works.

Even if they have a command to immediately leave for a certain location to regroup after modification, they will still prioritize entering the internal hangar until all the ships have docked or the queue is stuck due to the internal hangar being filled.

To some extent, their approach is correct because even in the internal hangar, modification operations can be carried out, and entering the internal hangar obviously gives way to the apron faster than take off.

However, they do not consider how to do when the total number of ships to be modified exceeds the capacity of the internal hangar.

So, for now, add more ship capacity is the only way.

Perhaps it is also telling me that ships beyond the capacity should not be allocated to carriers?

I would think so. Personally I never use that many fighters on a single battle group, and I often play with mods that make the game much more difficult. 30-40 fighters is a number that works well for me and does not clog up the carrier landing deck. I most often use a mix of M and S class ships as interceptors and sometimes destroyers with L beams, the Rattlesnake is a pretty good fighter killer with 6 L beams and all M turrets on beam too (especially in high attention, and its a decent light show). But if you really need/want that many fighters in one battle group, you can also assign some to the destroyers, you need to control the docking there manually but they still go to the carrier/supply ship for repairs and ammo. Or just add more carriers. :)
