So I will try again looking for a solution turning this horrible "feature" off myself, again.
In case the reader does not understand why that is such a problem:
I often control ships with hangar and a docked ship will cause the Radar fully zoom in, depriving me any situational awareness. And no, I don't want to put any docked ship into the internal storage all the time...
Repair drones cause the Radar to zoom in and out constantly as they move around the ship, absolutely terrible and totally unnecessary.
Even asteroids cause the Radar to zoom it, for whatever reason.
When fighting with a lot of ships around, the Radar will zoom in too making it difficult to keep track of what is going on around.
And in case this gets through to Egosoft:
Why? The Radar is in my eyes an essential tool for the player, and the player only. But you designed it from the get go in a way that makes it very unusable and in all those years I haven't seen even an attempt to improve it. If you compare it with basic instruments of simple aircraft, the X4 radar is probably the most lacking instrumentation one can imagine for a pilot. Oh okay you have 3d rendered things you can click on, but only when you can actually see them. Oh right, you can basically see everything across the entire sector if you look at the direction, but not what is right next to you, which cause the vision to be actually cluttered if there is a lot going on. There is no real sense of depth, and you can't really orientate yourself since there is no "attitude indicator/artificial horizon". Of course the axis indicators on the far edges are neither intuitive nor a good solution since how many people think in xyz vectors?
So if you deem this such a low priority that you don't bother to touch this, then please at least assist us to change this our self. Thanks.
