stations being built thousands of kilometers from nearest jump gate
I don't know what could have caused it, I use mods that pick stuff up so I don't have to hold o and a ship job that makes a ship run around and collect inventory items off of ships. I am doing the scale plate terraforming and noticed all my ships are missing, go to my map and everything looks weird. Turns out my ships are delivering stuff to stations thousands of kilometers outside the nearest jump gate in company regard. I have spent many hours looking for answers to problems to see it go away when I get rid of a mod, but I've been using the same mods for over a year now and NEVER had this issue before. What would even cause this? I would like a point in a general direction so I can restart yet again. I've never been able to finish every terraforming mission without something like this popping up and completely wrecking my game. over 6k hours in this game and still can't get it to work properly.

used to be one or two stations, but now it's dozens. Every sector has to be zoomed into to see what's going on because everywhere has stations too far out. Please tell me there is a fix that doesn't require something stupid like destroying 50 stations and going to war with the whole map.

If it goes away when you get rid of a mod then I guess you either need to contact the mod author or abandon the mod. Using it for years doesn't matter, it might have broken since then, or it might just not be updated for new versions of the game anymore.

I doubt those stated would cause odd station behavior since stations are part of God. You should post your mod list. What version of the game is your save from? Ego tries to keep save compatibility but old saves are rife with issues. Reloading saves sometimes helps with odd behavior but not station placement.

So... Not sure how relevant this is, but I've had an NPC faction build one of their stations quite off in the distance in version 7.10HF3. But really not sure at which point, and I think it felt more like an anomaly than a rule. See this screenshot:

But... This is an older version, so maybe the same does not happen with 7.50. This was an _unmodded_ play-through (don't ask me what that tentacle in lower-left is - probably some ship running away from whatever).

In 5.10hf3b (save started with version 3.10) BUC built their lost property base 1300+km from the nearest gate in Pious Mists sectors but rest of factions had their stations more or less reasonable distances.
What I have paid attention in save started 7.10 you need expand sector more than earlier but usually stations are still reasonable distance (500km+) and they can be more off from +/-80km from the 0 plane point. So some sectors it's needed to look the traffic direction to find stations.
I remember seen board message where Xenon station (located in Tharka's Cascade-Savage Spur corner) was 1000+km off and player had challenge to complete plot mission due that.

I use cheat engine and revealing map time to time show me such places. But they are a rarity. I'm more concerned about some defense platforms built well offset of the plane above or below. I have complained about it few times before. The entire taking over of a sector/system is weird. First you should establish some military presence then build factories. Defense platforms which does not actually defend trade routes or doing anything at all. Just acting as a territory marker. I like the idea of having some irregularities which make the game with more variables but they are more likely "laughing into the face of the enemy".

Yeah, sometimes the defense stations go wonky. Contested sectors with two or more factions building a defense station are the ones that seem to go crazy. Split factions like court or free families tend to be the most guilty on extreme station placement. That's from what I've observed in most of my saves.Virtualaughing wrote: ↑Sat, 15.
