Interceptor Missiles Behavior on Defense Station? - Found explanation.
I’m quite confused as of why my interceptor missiles aren’t firing at all despite enemy is already in visual range (7km, I’m sitting right on top of one of the turrets) despite the missile is advertised to have either 29 or 39 km range. Other missiles seem to work fine (smart and dumbfire do their job ok) but I can’t seem to get interceptor working. What am I missing?

Knowing nothing about your game (version and mod state) and your station/turret settings, it is rather difficult to advise. Maybe mix up just a limited number of other long range missiles loaded first to fire before the interceptors and so confirm if it is just the latter that don't fire under the same circumstances as the others.

I remember reading somewhere that station turrets only have a tracking lock range of just 5-6 Km and to track/lock the full range of your missiles they need to be deployed from missile launches but that may have changed since then. It also doesn't explain why some of your turrets work and some don't.

Setting turret target all
I’m told that mixing missiles causes worse performance so I only do single missile spam per station

I meant using a few of another long range missile type to fire first from the same turrets as an investigation* of the non-firing interceptors issue, and not for ongoing gameplay.
* ie: is it just interceptor missiles not firing when others do fire from the same turrets and settings in the same situations, or is it that having any interceptors in the load mix shuts down or degrades the missile turret performance in some circumstances.
If you wanted the devs to look into this then it would need a link to a vanilla save showing the issue happening or reliably about to happen. Also it would have been best if posted in the Public Beta report forum.

Update: found the issue. When any station module loadout is being updated the whole platform's turrets goes offline and doesn't launch any missile. It's not very noticeable as updating surface element loadout doesn't require a builder.Alan Phipps wrote: ↑Fri, 19.
