Using Rescued Pilots, transfer to Wharf?

Post by Scoob »

Hey all,

I've been rescuing a few of my Pilots when their ships go pop. These guys are worth rescuing, as they're often two star Pilots. Obviously I'd like to re-assign them to a new ship to benefit from their acquired experience. Of course, I can do this manually, replacing the default Pilot on a freshly-built ship. However, why can I not just assign them directly to my Wharf, and have them automatically assigned to the next freshly-built ship? Makes sense, right?

Basically, I'd hope to be able to transfer them to my Wharf or Shipyard, to become a valuable Pool of experienced Pilots. Having to build a ship, then manually assign a new Pilot is faff - especially when building multiple ships.

Currently, I have a couple of Transporters that JUST hold any rescued experienced Pilots. When civilian ships go pop of course, I'd have some experienced Service Crew too - also very valuable.

What would be good a new Assignment option for Stations that have a Ship Fabrication Module. The Station would then pull on this "pool" of experienced crew as appropriate.

What's a little silly is that I've actually built ships JUST to hold these experienced rescued Pilots, so I can order them "work somewhere else for me" when I force ships to bail. However, I'm doing less ship capture now I'm a bit more established.
