I've been playing X games since The Threat. Between X2, 3, 4, and even reunion, I've got 4K hours in Egosoft products.

And so I ask, for the love of all that is Holy, please let us silence Boso Ta.

Boso Ta: "I can't help myself but annoy you to no end about something you're CLEARLY NOT INTERESTED IN DOING AT THE MOMENT."

I've got nearly a thousand hours in this game, I'm way past the point where I need to be reminded of what there is to do, I've played all the storylines to my hearts content. Now I want to pirate, from a custom start, with all but one (Erkling) storyline done. This fishstick is still gargling at me every 15 minutes.

This is the one gnawing, nagging flaw that remains in X4, the one flaw that drives me frickin' bonkers. He just won't ever shut up, ever take a hint, and there is no option to mute him or go into his office and destroy his comms or jettison him out into space.

Please, devs, fix this. It's generally bad when your players start hating on your star characters. I don't want to hate on the dude. I just want him to be quiet until I interact with him in the HQ!

Haha,yes! I knew there was something vaguely familiar about Boso Ta. It's been ages since I've been in X2, and couldn't put my finger on I, but Mi Ton is it. Like a can of annoyance to go with the game.

He is very rarely spend me message or subititle, so I don't mind him, only thing he do talk lot by during mission, but once mission post, or before headquarter start, he don't talk at all. so way to mute boso is get that current quest/mission that gave boso ta done, then once that is done, he don't talk much at all, if anything.

It's mostly player's fault, not Boso Ta, for not get quest/mission done currently.

I just wish I could have chosen my chief science officer... And sent Boso on a venture mission in a ship that was laced with spacesuit bombs to destroy it and make him eject into another universe's space. Once he's stranded in space and can only listen to the sound of his own voice and see how annoying he is, he'll shoot himself.

There is a video from him to start off one particular mission, but I don’t recall any others.

Here’s what you should do then: go to the science lab on your PHQ and stand there for a while. Play the game from the map for 20 or 30 minutes.

What is he messaging about? Some bit of research? You can set the various research items to 'completed' in a custom start.

Yes, I chose to select all research as being done, except the Erlking drive. Turns out he wanted to start terraforming (research on this was also pre-selected as having been done). I had the conversation and left it with me needing to choose, i dunno, something. I left it at that and haven't heard from him since.
