Now I know they can't use the old npc skins, but why don't they simply get the artists' to make improved skins and the modellers to simply update it to work with the present version of X4? I liked the variety (especially the yellow lady's skin with the goggles, I even did an art pic of it on release). It also gives the impression that civilians exist on these stations.
Why totally abandon even trying to keep something like that? Variety is always good. It would help add a bit more life to Stations too.
I also heard once that new capabilities now allowed modding of clothing, but clearly it is not easy cos nobody has made anything new in Mod clothing at all.
Or are there other influences preventing this we should know about?

1. Please do more on NPC civilian/uniform variety, and bio customisations, Devs.
2. Stations need sirens/warnings when enemy is close in numbers or Station in danger of destruction (in Sandbox).
Yes, for immersion. Thankyou ahead of time. (Edit: This is actually happening!!!)

Re: Re-introducing the old NPC clothing/costumes as new...
Likely because it is not "simple" to make such things, with effort needed being closer to making brand new assets.
I think the old NPC character models and skins were removed due to being objectively or mechanically worse than the new ones. This is often the case with cut content from games, the first iteration of something might not be the last.
