In the past I have posted about problems using the map and how it likes to tank FPS etc. The DEVs did some work on it which helped greatly. However, the thing has a memory leak of some sort and I kept forgetting to come here and post about it due to real life, etc etc.
I play nearly every other day minimum and I stream X4 Foundations 2-3 if not 4 times a week. Love the game. BUT with all that play, I have learned of a number of things that really do need some attention, which many others have posted about so I won't repeat them.
The one I am writing about, however, is a pretty serious memory leak I have found with all the hours I play ESPECIALLY with heavy MAP use. There is a memory leak that appears over hours of playing, especially with heavy map use and using BOTH sides of the map display options active (i.e. the lists and information panels)
After playing a couple plus hours, the game FPS starts to slowly fall. Note I am in 3840x2160 UHD 4K for the gameplay. I am running on a i9-11900k, 64gb ram, RTX 3080 FTW3 Ultra, m.2 SSDs, Tobii 5 Eye/Head tracker, HOTAS, 7.1 Surround sound.
The longer you play, especially after you have opened up most of the sectors using SATS placement and once your universe is humming along nicely. At this point the more you use the map, the slower the FPS gets in 1st person view and in the map, with the map become unusable to where it will no longer draw the panels or items in the display area of the map. Closing the map and opening again sometimes lets you get control back. Note that I use BOTH sides panels especially with large stations and ships info showing on the right side, my properties and ships listed on the left. Eventually it degrades to the point that popup menus do not appear, the panels won't update or change tabs and eventually it just won't draw at all.
Exiting the map to 1st Person, the game will continue at a higher FPS again but no where near what it was. The only way to clear the issue is the leave the game and reload it.
Note, that this occurs in both UNMODDED and MODDED games. My current game has mods active BUT I do NOT use any mods that impact AI functions, do not impact the MAP or display at all. I use ships people have created that I test for balance, I use a few other 'nice' additions for things like better SATS, drones and a few other features but nothing that would impact the redraw of the map or the UI, HUD or GUI.
Like I said, it takes a few hours to really start to impact game play but it is noticeable in a major way. If I try to not use the map much, I have noticed this problem does not appear as quickly... but normally I use the map a lot so for me, it is a huge problem as my universe is growing.
I was just reminded of this problem again, and decided I better get this posted instead of thinking I would do it later again... lol my bad on that.

Might be relevant. This thread includes a single case memory leak issue actually fixed in 6.20, but there may be other cases at play too. Unfortunately your post contains no evidence that the devs can investigate.
