What's with these weird overlays that show what goods are sold/bought at some place? They are totally blocking the map view, and I can never tell which place they are for:

I'm finding this map very difficult and inconvenient to use. Usually I can't even see where my ship is, and these overlays are blocking everything. Is it supposed to be like this?

Re: weird overlays
At the top of your screenshot, just to the left of the Search bar, there are Trade/Mining/Other overlay icons. Click on them, and the overlays will disappear. They're not so useful at maximum zoom-out as you've got the map in that screenshot, but when the map is zoomed in and you're looking for trades/resources/etc., they're much more so.

Ah, thanks, that way I can finally see something on the map
This really takes some getting used to, and I'm having performance issues as well ...

Re: weird overlays
If you're having performance issues, start a new thread and provide the information requested in the very first thread at the top of this forum.

Re: weird overlays
Thanks, I'm still researching and experimenting with the settings to get better performance. It probably comes down to my CPUs simply not being fast enough, and I might end up swapping them for some with less cores but higher frequencies. They're cheap enough to do that and it'd be a fun experiment. It's ok atm, and I guess when the game progresses further, it might eventually become an issue.
