Station does not recognize ship as mine - Explained.

In my game: player owned ships frequently seem to NOT be recognized as player's ship, can't select them to repair or upgrade at stations. This is not true for all my ships but some of them. It doesn't seem to matter if I'm trying to upgrade them remotely through the menu's or if I'm in person, in the ship at the wharf/repair dock/shipyard.
Yes, I know that you must have the required relations level for that station and ship type. s/m >10, L/XL >20 generally.
Yes, I know you must be at the correct type of station to repair the ship: small/meduim for wharf or repair and L/XL for shipyard.
Yes, I know the station must have the nesseary supplies... this isn't the problem, I can't select the ship at all to upgrade even when I'm in the ship on the dock.

The stations simply do not recognize the ship is docked, its not on the menu to select an upgrade. This keeps happening to my ships, they are available to repair/upgrade for a time but them stop.

save file example: you will spawn in a Dragon, in a argon equipment dock and the ship is not on the menu to select to repair/upgrade. Going to another station makes no difference.

Any 3rd party mods or save edits at any time during this game (especially if relevant to the bugged ships), and have you verified your game installation since the last update?

I'm not able to reproduce this in current build. After following Alan's suggestions opt into 6.20 Beta and see if the issue persists for you.

One condition you didn't mention was the requirement to have a pilot for any ship to be repaired. I assume you do?

its a purely vanilla game, no mods have ever been installed. Where do I go to confirm this? file location? steam?
The game is kept up to date through Steam, currenlty on version 6.10
all DLC's installed.
I Steam verified my game files last night.

you tried my save?

• you Spawn in the pilots seat of "Dragon Raider 4" docked in a 30 Reputation argon equipment station, when selectiong the "upgrade/Repair ship" option which gives you the window on the top of the screen where you would select the ship size drop down, S or M .... the field is blank. The ship type drop down field is blank = no drop down, nothing to select.

• If I chose "Get up" option and move away for the pilots seat the assigned "Capitan" walks up and sits in the chair. I then go to the map, select the Argon Equipment dock that the ship is currently still docked at (I can see out the window from behind the captain). and again select "upgrade/repair docked ship" option which brings you back to the same screen where you select the ship with the drop down S or M ship size..... except nothing is there to pick, no drop down

It's like either the game doesn't recognize the ship as atually mine to modify or the station doesn't acknowledge the ship is actually docked.... but I can walk out of the ship and onto the dock.
this is not true for all ships.... just the ones I've had longer. If I buy a new ship I don't have this problem and can upgrade/repair it but eventually I run into this issue, it keeps happening.

If I try Beta 6.2 .... can I revert back to 6.1 if its worse?

I've found the problem. All the ships that you can't Upgrade & Repair, including the Dragon 4 you're sitting in, have the Repeat Orders command. Upgrade and Repair can't be a repeat order, so those ships can't be modified until you remove their Repeat Orders command. Do that and you should be good to go.

I didn't realize the "repeat" behavior would impact this, expecially when you are sitting in the captains chair.

The "X" series is one of my favorites games ever. I've played them all.
