controls locking up - resolved (engines destroyed)

Currently in an Asgard clearing out a Xenon system and my controls periodically lock up. Speed drops to zero and manoeuvring is not possible. the turrets still fire, but it's just a wait till I'm set upon by 3 or 4 Ks and destroyed.

I've tried turning the autopillock on and off, saving and reloading and transporting to another ship, all to no avail. Latest version, but not vanilla.

Anyone got any ideas?

If saving and loading doesn't solve the problem, then please upload the save somewhere and provide a link so that we can try it ourselves. Without that, and the rest of the information requested in the very first thread at the top of the forum, we don't have much chance of being able to help you.

Is your engine damaged/destroyed? The Asgard has a single engine, so it's easily knocked out by fighters.

I think you've found the problem. I blew up an I about 2km away from me and it knocked out most of my turrets. Makes sense that the engine would go, too.
