6.0 YAK plot, potential scripting issues with YAK support squadron when destroying the amplifier / creative game start

Alright, I already mentioned this over on Discord, so I'll just copypaste what I wrote here. It's a modified game with a bunch of mods, but none of them should affect mission or storyline focus.
(That said, I'll be happy to upload a save and list the mods I have enabled if a dev tells me it's fine and they want to have a look at what's going on...)

Turns out, if you let too much time pass during the Yaki plot, Haile will dock his ship at their station. Then, for some unfathomable reason, it was put into internal storage.

Turns out if the ship is in internal storage, you won't receive it as a quest reward, and now he keeps yapping at me every time I enter or exit the sector. And obviously, since it's not your property, you also cannot retrieve it from internal storage, either.

Also another fun fact - after editing the savegame and making me the owner, the game tells me the ship doesn't have a captain. Something really fishy is going on with the mission scripting here - come to think of it, when I nuked the amp, there also weren't any friendly YAK ships around to help me.

Ok, so apparently I misremembered - my game crashed after I'd played the plot, but apparently I never saved. Long story short, I received the ship, but Haile is still missing as a captain for some reason...
