Claiming Sectors

Would someone please tell me what are the requirements to claim a sector and where do find the Claim Sector Command?

You need to build a trading station or equipment dock in the sector. Once built you can click your station and choose "sector control" where you can claim and rename a sector.

And since you probably haven't done so, the Xenon Hub station also counts as an Equipment Dock. So you can use that to claim that sector.

PHQ works too for claiming a sector.

Thanks all for confirming this.
I already have my hub sector and my HQ sector next to LEGENDS HOME both claimed - just as you described.
However, building an Equipment Dock in Akeelas Beacon Beta (after building TOA) should have given me the option of Sector Control and Claim sector in the station menu.
No Sector Control option appears and in the map the sector description says "Race - unclaimed" and "Build a Trading Dock to claim the sector".
So ........ Any ideas what I might be doing wrong?

Yes, you built an equipment dock instead of a trading station. And yes, I too was disappointed and had to recycle my fancy goner temple (equipment docks)

Yeah, had the same disappointment with the Boron EQ dock. I don't think any EQ docks work to claim a sector, only trading stations. I think Argon trade stations are the best for docking. Has anyone tried to pick up the trading station after a sector is claimed and replace it with an Equipment Dock?

Being that the Goner temple blueprint costs 1/2 billion, I think it would be cool if there was a mod to make it dock several Capitals like the HQ.
