Asset names / auto naming of assets?

Post by RegisterMe »

So I got my first soyfarm up, yay! And then I scrounged up enough coin to get it a TS, yay!

But the Station Manager doesn't change the name of the supporting TS to indicate that it's associated with that station. And once I have the Station Manager running I can't manually rename the TS.

Am I missing something?
I can't breathe.

This puzzled me for a bit. However, it does have some benefits:

If the homebased, station-managed ship is currently on an active order (buying/selling <whatever>) it should show a yellow/gold M next to it's name in the Property Manager (likewise the station itself should have a coloured +). This indicates it's under its Station Manager's control & carrying out their orders

If that same ship does /not/ display that 'M', the ship is not currently in use by the SM & hence can be (temporarily) grabbed for other duties by <player> if desired. Once <ship's> immediate (<player> or SM order has expired, it'll automatically return to SM control if that manager has any tasks for it.. so be aware that simply ordering such a ship to 'dock at <station>' may not necessarily result in retaining personal control of that ship (ie it may then immediately fly off to do it's homebase bidding if an SM task has pre-empted your ordering) :( To prevent this, for longer personal tasks, use its station's Control Console to set that ship's task to 'None' which will effectively cancel future homebase orders while retaining its homebase designation (so you can quickly reset that back via it's station manager orders no matter where it ends up)

This explanation is poorly worded for clarity, but I hope it gives some immediate insight..
