*spoilers* Possible bugged secret

Post by Makathran »

In split fire, what I'm now internally calling my secret finder, is pointing me towards the planet and a small asteroid belt close to it. When I approach the belt asteroids start popping due to the planets gravity well and if I keep going towards it so do I!

If this is something I just need to work out on my own that's great but I think it *might* be a bug?

I have exactly the same issue in Rhy's Desire due to my secret being placed too close to the planet. It seems that the spawning algorithm for discoveries generated these without checking if they were 110% safe for the player to arrive there IS.

I considered a workaround by placing a jump beacon at the secret, deploy it, quickly grab it, and then get the heck out of there, but that would fry me up (and the precious jump beacon) before I could pull that stunt.

Since secrets should have the invincible tag, that means they shouldn't be damaged. As a solution since next update contains a lot of bug fixes, if the secrets have taken hull damage, the game should check if there's damage, relocate the object to somewhere more safe (e.g. near a gate away farther away from its original position), and then heal off the damage.

Not just me then! I was considering it might be on the other side of the planet or something but don't think I have a week to wait to try and fly round it to find out, if thats even possible :D

Apologies, I was thinking that secrets are static this time round due to the freighters in the starter systems being static. Here's the save https://drive.google.com/file/d/1Gfqdb5 ... sp=sharing
