Khaak, Xenon, Yaki and pirates
Word on the enemies please Xenons and Khaak? How many pirate clans - one or a few? Will we be able to interact with them, forge alliances or perhaps use them as mercs? What about the Yaki?

Yaki and generic Pirates are already confirmed as per screenshots on Steam to be factions. No word on other default-hostile-factions.

Re: Khaak, Xenon, Yaki and pirates
I would imagine that the Xenon are almost certain to reprise their role. They are a staple of the franchise and a real threat in the universe. From what I remember, the Kha'ak was sort of absent from X3AP (Plot) As I think the player pretty much kills them off in "operation loose ends" (x3tc). Since they are present in the newer games I would imagine that the possibility is there for them to return.
Piracy would be high especially with the new features which pretty much seem like it would fit right in with the pirate mandate. The big question is the Yaki, which in the previous titles was confined to about 3 sectors. It could be possible that their gate in savage spur has shut down, pretty much wiping the faction from the game.

Re: Khaak, Xenon, Yaki and pirates
Yeah, I hope so, lots of potential chaos, but interactive.
Except, Berryl Research is a Yaki front, they created Argon's AGI tech, and there are "rumors" that parts of Argon govt are compromised by Yaki agents. If either, the Yaki home sectors are still connected, or a cut-off fragment in possession of Berryl's data reconstitutes, then Yaki backed by swarms of AGI drones could be a primary enemy. That Yaki fragment could be a carrier group located almost anywhere, or even just a lone agent with a data cache, factory complex, and delusions of warlord grandeur. If not, I imagine that would make a nice mod (Yaki Armada 3.0?), or community developed DLC for FL 2.0...
I hope the Kha'ak have multiple hives, like murder hornets in space, could spread out all over. If not, that could make a nice mod (Improved Kha'ak 3?) or DLC...
I hope Xenon have factions, varying tech levels (weaker & stronger ship variants), more CPU ships to interact with, some strategy dynamics, and maybe some AGI hunting specialist NPC's to spout engaging technobabble which teaches the player how to identify the weak spots in Xenon networks (nodes, fragments, "joints" in a military strategy context). "Xenon hunter" is a better job title than "Kha'ak hunter". If not, I imagine that would also make a nice mod or DLC...
I think the primary conflict will be some variety of succession war, or several of them. Like the civil wars referenced in the X-Rebirth plot backstory. Possibly repeated over multiple sectors, as the player makes their way from a cut-off starting sector "back to civilization". How many sectors have a balance of power maintained by RRF groups being a jump away or naval fleets being in a neighboring sector? For that matter, the journey "back to civilization" could be a euphemism for use of diplomacy, or winning fights, in-addition to actual travel.

Ketraar actually avoided the question tactfully. Maybe he is hiding potential spoilers?ZAG37iNT wrote: ↑Wed, 12. Anyhow, I think Focus crystals we find throughout the universe allow us to create Khaak weapons from our HQ.
X fanatic. More of an X3 fanatic.
What about X4? Nah, I prefer a space simulator rather than a walking simulator.
