Places where people can track down XBTF,/XT/XGOLD CD's

I would like to start this thread that allows people to post comments on where American (or European) versions of these games can be bought or aquired in some way.

I personally live in Toronto Canada (North America), and I can't track down XT or XGOLD for the life of me. I'm about to finish XBTF (one of the few games that I actually bought), and would like to play the others eventually.

So far, I've seen some posts on Ebay for people selling off XGOLD., but Ebay is kinda risky. Anyone else know where we can get the american versio of XT or XGOLD?

No, you're going to have to get the German one from the Egosoft shop and, you can then download a patch (120MB!!!) which will make everything in XT Einglish.

I've never really had bad luck with eBay, just fortunate I guess. The seller appears to have good feedback. The only problem might be that this is a relatively rare title, and on ebay the prices are often driven up to ridiculous levels.

The patch section of this board is currently off-line. Before it went down I downloaded the X-T German-to-English patch, but unfortunately one of its files, "00144.dat", was corrupted.

I'm hoping to convince someone to send me some of the English language files so I can get my German X-Gold converted to English.

If I ever manage to get it done, I would be willing to send the files and a procedure to anyone who wished to convert X-Gold German to English.

The files I need are:
X:BTF:
01.dat
mov\00144.dat
mov\00244.dat

X-T:
mov\00144.dat

If anyone would be willing to send me any / all of these files, I can continue to work on a German / English conversion procedure.

Common guys dont hide !!! I know half of you will get or has already got a game X-gold via peer to peer network.

I admit i didnt buy xgold but i have an original which is property of my good friend !

Let go back to X-gold now.
I tested it and it looks very promising. First thing I noticed that you need a Joystick for normal flight. Hmm that means i must get one.

The game is good but one thing is bothering me ! Why is there no exploration of space stations like in Freelancer and chatting with people. In x2 is going to be the same ? No interior of spacestations like bars, equipment dealers, commody offices... like in Freelancer and privateer. I woul realy miis those.

You dont need a joystick at all to play any X game. I have played both X-btf and X-tension exclusively on keyboard with the occassional use of the mouse.

I wouldn't exactly say that the space stations are worth being on in FL. You simply get a different cut scene with the same naff dialogue in every place. I'd rather just have a message board (coming with X2).

Might I suggest you read the forum rules. It's not just the mods that don't like it either. If it's worth playing, it's worth paying.

No, we pay for our games, because we know that the developer isn't going to be able to produce newer and better versions if we don't. If you borrowed a LEGIT copy off a friend, that's pretty much OK, but it's NOT OK to rip off a version from somewhere.
