Dear devs, a list of bugs and issues that makes me want to uninstall...

Post by Dark_Messiah »

First, i must say that i love the game, the game is good.
Now onto the reason why i'm near quitting and uninstalling the game.

1, Losing the ability to interact with things. To my knowledge, the only way to fix this is to save and reload, the f2 f1 method doesn't seem to be working for me.

2, not a bug but needs improvement - Save time: Are you serious with these save times? Combined with the first issue it's driving me nuts. Here is something that i believe might be the problem. Large savefiles. Possible solution: divide the save file into multiple smaller files. This could or could not help, idk. (yes, the game is on my ssd becase saving took even longer when it was on my hdd)

3, Orders: Sometimes when giving an order, as an example transferring wares to one ship from another, one of them either gets stuck with that order forever even when trying to cancel it, or one party sets a course off the map for no apparent reason.(also some orders can't be cancelled before it finishes, for example recalling the mining drones, which is a problem when see bug no.5). Which makes issuing a new order quite painful when drones have to be recalled to carry out the subsequent order.

4, Pathfinding: here is a little story that happened to me just today. I had a large freighter carrying goods set a course to my hq, the order line showed that it would take the correct path, but it suddenly turned in the exact opposite direction for no reason whatsoever and started going through 7 sectors instead of the 3 the line showed, and yes, the line was blue, meaning that it was the active order, so i thought, "hmm let's see how this will pan out", and was destroyed the second sector in which had a raid by the enemy happening at the time.

5, AI y u do dis? I will use 2 examples for this one.
-My mining ship. I destroy an asteroid, and dispatch my mining drones to collect the silicon(yes, i did set them to collect only silicon). There were fragments full of silicon so, i have 4 drones, 3 grabs an empty chunk 1 grabs an actual silicon chunk, 1 with an emtpy asteroid comes back and lands emptying the empty chunk into my cargo hold, 1 of them starts going forward and back forward and back for all of eternity, 1 starts doing baclflips and 1 starts vibrating at a speed it tears a hole in the fabric of space and time.(calling them back by disabling it doesn't usually help. The only way to fix this that i found was to get in another ship and leave the sector.)

-But, drones aren't the only things doing this either. A few mins ago i watched a teladi and a xenon destroyer duke it out when they both began spinning at extreme speeds, missing all their shots, and the xenon fighters ended the teladi destroyer. And they both spun until the end, a worthy end for such a mighty ship.... doing what it always wanted... spinning.

6, not really a bug, more like an honorable mention. So, i got bug no.1 when i just started playing and spent over an hour trying to find a solution to fixing it on google to no avail. So i sold the ship i was on thinking id get kicked out and i could buy another ship..... right, that didn't happen. What did happen was, a new pilot came and kidnapped me, to just outside the station. I didn't have a save yet so i had to restart the game. (granted, if bug no.1 is fixed this will no longer be a problem.)

EDIT01:
7, So i was traveling with my ship in travel mode to a station when i started commanding my other ships through the map and forgot to check if i was close to the station until i heard the crashing noise, and when i closed the map to check what was happening i phased inside the station. I had to spend over 30 mins trying to wiggle outside.

8, Not a bug but an issue that needs improvement: please revamp the whole ui, it's like a maze, especially for new players.

And because of these issues and some more minor ones that don't bother me as much, I spent hours on missions that should've taken around 20 mins at most. I often feel like i have to deal with the bugs more then i actually play the game. Again, i like the game, i want to play the game, but i'm at the edge of mental collapse from dealing with the bugs and issues...

I've seen #4 happen, and sometimes my ships will try to take a seven sector run to go to the next, already connected, sector. They seem to forget about Jump Gates/Accelerators after a while (station trade/knowledge timer perhaps being used for gates/accelerators?) and one even turned from "Jump Gate" to "?" after I left it running (vanilla) overnight. :? I've started placing Satellites near each set of gates/accelerators so that they are hopefully not forgotten again. Perhaps our navigation computers in our ships are running MS DOS and can only store 640k of knowledge at a time?

I'm sure that you will probably know by now that lists of suggestions and various different issues without supporting information do not attract dev attention here.
