I did a quick video on this that I will link below but I am having a hard time reconciling that in order for me to get ship and weapon BPs from ZYA I have to grind rep with them to later pay millions for. I chose the new start for the Split that has you at odds with them, so this breaks that narrative. I thought of a clever way to maybe introduce a new function for the PHQ where you can go out and capture an enemy ship, bring it to the PHQ to say a special dock, and pay your scientist whatever resources and credits that he needs to attempt to reverse engineer the ship and it's parts with a percentage success rate as well as a time factor based on the size of the ship and how many unknown components their are. It is this or use a mod to achieve this end but I don't see why I need to do that considering our ships are basically nano-constructed and companies to this day reverse engineer each others products. +1 getting ship blueprints only by being friendly with factions is incentivizing players to be friendly with everybody. What if I want to go to war? but then there'd be no way to refit all my ships.

I use a mod for it personally but it's one of those things that should 100% be part of the base game. Not having it is a step backwards from previous PHQ functionality...

I like how you have considered a lack of success to enable multiple REs. e.g 1 or 2 unknown components per attempt.
