I will start off by saying that ... yes, the game still has bugs.
There still are issues here and there.
We still don't have loads of huge gigantic destroyers.
Odysseus still looks like a hair dryer.
We still don't have all the races from the previous games.
(*insert other reason here why this game isn't what some people wanted it to be*)
But if you ask me, none of these matter.
I am a big fan of the X Universe. Not of one or more of the games in the series, but the whole story behind it. The story of how a few races do (or do not) get along in a random area of space.
Split Vendetta brought along what I consider to be the best soundtrack in the series and also probably the best I've heard in a game. We now also have a plot which ties the actual game to the X Universe story. The sectors we travel during those missions, are no longer random, they are places where things happened, events that were significant for the big picture. Also, we can walk on stations, we can go talk to individuals. And the Split fill up another piece in the puzzle.
X4 is the best at making everything feel as close as possible to reality. And to me that is more important than any other bug or inconvenience. I think the X Universe never felt so alive and real.
I would say that Egosoft totally nailed it this time. Was it worth waiting an extra 3 months for the release? I think it was worth every second.
Thank you Egosoft

Get out of here with that praise! it’s not welcome. We want more threads telling us how the Devs have f*cked up.If only they had listened to me/the community! Why can’t I sit in my ivory Tower and do everything in the game with one click.I’ll stamp my feet and scream really loud if the Devs doing fix this thing right now! Thank god for the modders who have come riding over the Horizon like the Cavalry to save us from these clueless Devs ...yadda yadda yadda....
Totally agree with all you have said OP.Well done for having the courage to stick your head above the parapet.

I was writing I totaly agree when my Raptor, after 30 minutes of fly, attacks the Split Shipyard instead of dock. I will come back in 30 minutes to give my opinion
In anycase I'm loving the game, but I'll need someone to pay me for play: today 2 hours wasn't enough to take my ship from 1 sector to another one 3 sector away.

I just spoke my mind, there's nothing about courage. In some ways, I think X4 is more polished than any other X game. Even at launch, it didn't feel like an experiment like XR did.

Re: For me, it was worth the wait
Split is a nice addition, they were integral to previous games. So ES can now weed out all those small insignificant annoying bugs, and tidy up the chain of clicks to do a simple job! That one click would suffice !
Then and only then, get the Boron back into the game. Particularly the Boron ships. They are the best.
Good work ES, keep it up, and stay well.

Re: For me, it was worth the wait
I agree, it WAS worth the wait. Kuddos to Egosoft for thoroughly beta testing with the community to ensure a smooth transition to 3.0. I am having a great time both with the free 3.0 update as well as the Split expansion dlc.
There has been a few minor glitches (the nova cockpit is too cramped and I've been clipped into the interior of the ship several times; sometimes the -guidance- waypoint system glitches and won't clear the last waypoint; humanoid faces look especially ugly; sometimes in 3rd person mode, while in space, my cockpit instrument panel disappears) but the improvements are staggering. The new graphics engine is awesome sauce, love the ui menu system changes and tweaks, the economy seems improved, LOVE the new missions, I really appreciate the changes to some of the sectors, and of course the new expansion with the Split and new ships was well worth the collectors edition.
The fact egosoft has both many advocates and critics only show the interest level in the game/franchise they created. Also, the Steam reviews, both recent and overall are very good. The team should be proud

Yep, great work Egosoft on Split Vendetta..
Universe finally looks like a proper full X universe, not anymore a half universe, fantastic soundtrack, new plots and starts, diversity of ships and weapons.. Research isn't too easy any more, it requires some small investment of real play time.
We have so many weapon options with Split Vendetta. Sometimes I really enjoy just flying and listening to the music..
I started with a harder Split start, it was really antagonizing (which is great) until I left the Split space and started to build my (mining) empire in the old X4 space.. After a couple of days, I returned to wreck havoc to Zyarth and accomplish my Vendetta
Btw there's really cool music in the Antigone Memorial.. I don't remember it from before, was it added in 3.0 ?

Funny, I haven't seen anything like this in last 48 hours of play.SparvieroGed wrote: ↑Mon, 6. Apr 20, 21:45 I was writing I totaly agree when my Raptor, after 30 minutes of fly, attacks the Split Shipyard instead of dock. I will come back in 30 minutes to give my opinion![]()

Did you gave your Raptor pilot some piloting seminars so the poor sod can fly properly from A to B ?
When I gave my ships commands to go from A to B, they did it regardless of the enemy patrols, unless overwhelmed at the gates/accelerators by e.g. Xenon.
I saw other issues, scouts on explore fighting other ships instead of fleeing, and I needed to go manually to override fight to flee, but this is another matter.

I have no idea what happened, usually the ship fly around without problem.

Re: For me, it was worth the wait
I completely agree with all that has been said here.
The game might have a few quirks here and there, but it delivers such an experience and has so much to offer that I can't help but feel very impressed by what the developpers achieved.
And Split Vendetta added a lot of magic to the universe (both visually, story wise and musically).
So, a big thank you to Egosoft. I can't wait to see what you're planning for the future updates!
