Late game resource sinks
I asked the question on the Q&A stream with Bernd, but it was buried in the chat and not answered. Earlier on Reddit ama it was said that there might be alternative resource sinks other than ships in the future. Was this explained in more detail elsewhere? Maybe the devs can give us an update on these plans, if they still exist! BTW, great Q&A, I had no idea that dumb combat behavior was really caused by pilot’s low skill and not AI bugs...

Wasn't the faction politics supposedly very "expensive"?
PHQ research was also given some notable resource costs as you now need to sink ton of them to max it out.

This is a temporary sink. The issue late game, after all temporary sinks are dealt with, is that currently ships are the only resource sink.Shehriazad wrote: ↑Sat, 4. Apr 20, 04:03 PHQ research was also given some notable resource costs as you now need to sink ton of them to max it out.
Would be nice if there could be civilian related infrastructure, or maybe planets or colonies one could grow which consume reasonably large amounts of resources.

Well, station building is a ressource sink in itself. At least in my 3.0 game (splitless), the xenon wreck many stations and almost destroyed the teladi (I just rebuilded their big shipyard, as they couldnt get the claytronics themselves...).

AMD 7800x3d, RX 9070, 32gb RAM. Now we're talking

But if there were a large enough civilian resource sink, maybe players would be complaining that the resources for ships needed in their war were being sucked up by civilians instead...Imperial Good wrote: ↑Sat, 4.
