So Nvidia released a new Vulkan 1.2 beta driver. Been playing with it since it came out on the 24th. I am playing the X4 beta 3.0.
So far I noticed a slight improvement in frame rates and LOD is smoother. I am also using my own custom Reshade preset using ver 4.54. my system is only using a 1050 ti so I am
at the bottom of the requirements.
the Vulkan beta is availiable here:

Re: Nvidia Vulkan 1.2 beta driver
Are Vulkan drivers part of normal GPU Nvidia drivers when they come out of the beta?
Or do I have to update them separately?

Re: Nvidia Vulkan 1.2 beta driver
At least on Linux, the Vulkan support comes bundled with the proprietary NVIDIA drivers.
Dunno for Windows, but that is probably true as well.
You might want to stay away from Microsoft-supplied drivers though. Don't own a Windows copy, so my knowledge is less than ideal, but at least with OpenGL support there was an issue with drivers from "Microsoft driver update center" (or something like this) not containing it.
If you are (still) using Windows, just make sure to take drivers directly from NVIDIA site and not trough some built-in driver update functionality.

Re: Nvidia Vulkan 1.2 beta driver
Vulkan is indeed bundled with the Nvidia or AMD driver suite and is updated along with those. Always get your driver updates from the respective card manufacturer's update site and do not rely upon Windows Update to tell you about them or to offer them.
(That last part is true for dedicated sound card or sound chipset drivers too. Don't rely on MicroSoft or Windows Update or you may only get a generic MicroSoft default sound driver that is not optimised for your sound card or chipset.)

Link doesn't work for me, but that's exciting to hear! We could always use better performance.

Re: Nvidia Vulkan 1.2 beta driver
Would be interesting to hear if anyone else sees some performance improvements with these! I will try myself as soon as I can.

Re: Nvidia Vulkan 1.2 beta driver
Any performance improvements would be from driver optimizations and not Vulkan 1.2.
Vulkan version defines the available feature set. Unless an application is built to take advantage of the available feature set it will not see any benefit from having it available. Applications will see a benefit from driver optimizations making API calls and shader execution complete more quickly.

Damn thanks for reminding me to check the drivers, stupid Geforce Experience is unreliable and wont notify me ever since they started using accounts.
