So as usual I kept observing the is combat between AI ships and I noticed that s and m ships aren't able to (are very rarely able to) target surface elements (I observed Vs xenon I and K).
I noticed that considering their sizes, xenon k and xenon I rotation speed is pretty high, making their surface elements pretty difficult to be targeted. Or maybe fighter combat AI still can't calculate the angle to attack surface element from?
Am I the only one who noticed that?
Capital ships rotation speed is too high?

I have noticed this as well. The Xenon I rotates at such as fast rate it is kind of silly. Due to its extreme length the front and back move faster from rotation that the Xenon I can fly forward.
Xenon I should have quite poor rotation due to its size.

Now you know why the community calls it the Blender.Imperial Good wrote: ↑Wed, 25. Mar 20, 17:57 The Xenon I rotates at such as fast rate it is kind of silly.

It can literally close the distance faster by rotating than moving forward. This ends up with some interesting situations where you think you are safe with your destroyer in main gun range just to get its backside with 10 op Xenon guns shoved in your face.
Hopefully this will be addressed by next weeks release.

Re: Capital ships rotation speed is too high?
I find it SO funny, that you pay millions ONLY to get a ship rotation speed of +0,3 or so if you upgrade a capital ship ,
and worse: Im still silli enough to DO that, because the ship needs ages to dock, and undock, or fly though gates, if I send it to trade or autopilot something.
and thats still too fast)
well, the ships have a problem in proportions, I think:
The destroyer CANT load 50 ships in the onbuilt deck is just huge, and the destroyer only consists of that docking bay, and has no space to use.
2. The towers on a ship, weapon chancell are doom big, and for THAT size, they should have more power AND more range!
3. there should be a number MORE weapon chancell because im still used and convinced on the X3 Proportions here.
A Panther there WAS the size to hold 32 Sips, its amount of freight,
and then has 4-6 weapons PER DIRECTION, which improves a lot the area coverage around the ship,
so it doesnt need to rotate that much, and is also not capable.
4. the way of rotation should be better for narrow ship parts, but bending the flat fish of a paranids XL should be lame as hell)
5. if they had enough weapons, they WERE good carriers, because they use ships for the small stuff,
and drones and so on, and have their defence Chancells for - area coverage better than targeting down a single big ship.
for that you have a majority of front weapons or so.
But X has so huge amounts of things players wish, and just 30 people flicking it together, I think we still will get there in future
