So, I bought the game quite awhile ago but have only played a little bit of it. With Split Vendetta coming out soon, I'm looking to start a game of X4.
My problem is I'm finding it difficult to navigate menus, the map, and trading. In X3: TC/AP it's easy to navigate the map, look at stations and see stocks. prices including avg price and so on. But in X4 it feels more complicated, I don't see avg prices for items so I don't know if they're above or below, and navigating menus and the map is a little more complicated it seems.
So does anyone have any tips and suggestions for what I can do to manage those things? I find flying, docking and moving around in system easy. It's just the differences in the UI that are getting to me.
Could use a little help

Yeah I wish stations with their sell and buy prices, as well as supply and demand, could be represented in a sortable table form rather than the map interface. X Rebirth had a better way to find trades IMO with a table rather than relying upon a map. I don't mind the current system in X4, but I wish it could be supplemented with a table that listed trade deals like they had in Rebirth.

When one goes to make a trade deal one can see an estimation how good the price is. Redish means bad, greenish means good.
For the most part do not worry much about that. Your auto traders are usually smart enough to avoid making a loss and your auto miners cannot make a loss even if they are selling at a sub-optimal price. Late game you will be consuming most of your wares internally anyway so price is of little concern.
One should be able to see prices against time on a sector by sector basis in the encyclopaedia. I recall reading of this feature in one of the beta notes long ago.
