2.6 toggle target didn't work

As the title suggests, I can't make the target toggle button work, I can't deselect a target without using the mouse by clicking in the empty space.
The target toggle key re-enables targeting after turning it off with the mouse, but does not turn it off when pressed again.

Anyone know a fix?
Or at least a workaround for the problem, without using the mouse of course.
