[3.0+] How do you land on a station via spacesuit?

I read that starting with 3.0 you can actually land on a station using a spacesuit. But how? Which station part to enter in or land on?

You can!

You'll enter through a little airlock akin to on M and Larger-sized ships on a Docking pad. Door opens, lights show up, you fly in and you appear in a Teleporter room.

Request docking permission, you should then see the green lights. The airlock should be on the short side of a dock, near where small traffic gets in.

It needs to be made clear that if you're playing a saved game instead of a fresh start then any stations before 3.0 you cannot land on them with a spacesuit (as i understand it) the dock with station is greyed out ...
