Head Tracking and menu's

Post by dirtybeatfreak »

Hello,

Apologies if this is not the correct place to ask this. Please proceed to virtually slap me if this is the case :)

Is there a way to disable head tracking (using TrackIR myself) when the menu's are open, automatically? I saw a discussion here that Ctrl and T can disable it temporarily, but this could already be achieved with Track IRs software. I am finding that pressing a key is quite cumbersome and sometimes I flick into a menu quickly, set something, then back to normal and adding the key press and waiting for it to adjust is annoying. The action of the disabling is quick but it still adds that action.

I have done a search but haven't found much information on this so wondered if someone could answer? Many thanks in advance!

Since this is not directly relevant to the current beta process, I'll move this from the public beta forum to Tech Support.

This thread includes similar requests.

Thank-you Alan. Will have a read of that thread. I must have missed that one!

Apologies for posting in the wrong forum

I think this is sorely needed.
I also think we should be able to use head tracking in platform mode if we want, as a toggle. Many of us spend most time there. Thanks!

It only works well if you have a reference to what "forward" is which we don't have (e.g. in an fps-shooter you have the weapon as a reference)....

Would it be feasible to add a simple arrow or icon as a reference and put this feature as default to off in expert options, so we could test? 😊

The auto-off in menus would help either way. Thanks!
