Is it possible to use the paint mods on custom made ships?
How to go about doing so.

So is it another set of textures for the ship, but with a different paint scheme? Ie camo

Re: Paint on custom ships
Paintmods are a mixture of a tri planar mapped textures onto the asset and a number of properties to modify the vertex colour on the ship.
The properties are for example a hue shift, brightness/saturation/smoothness/metalness/dirt multiplier and a scaling setting.
Where a paintmod affects an object is defined in the red vertex illumination channel (vertex colour).

I think I saw on YouTube some X4 mods footage with X-Rebirth ships that use X4 paint mods.
