Criterias to assign a mining ship to a station?

Post by Browser_ice »

I like doing things differently but there is one thing in X4 that I am having difficulties: filling in all the criterias needed to assign a mining ship to a station. This is for X4 Vanilla.

I will list all that I can think of (mainly based on what I tried). Can someone confirm if some are missing or not needed?

1) Have a production module that needs a mineral/gaz ware (asking for the case where you have no production module and just storage)
2) Station has to have a manager
3) Mining ship cargo has to be empty or filled before mine assigning to station?
4) If mining ship cargo has wares in it before mine assinging to station it MUST not be a different ware the what the station is mining for (unless the station produces it or needs it)?
5) Default mining ship behavior has to be Sector mining, Auto mining or Expert mining?
6) Have mining ship docked at station before mine assigning to station or at least in same sector as station?
7) Have a solid storage module for mineral wares to mine or liquid storage for gaz wares to mine
8) Mineral/gaz to mine has to be visible either by a resource probe or a satelite in any sectors of the whole map?

[added]
9) Create a selling price once you have some mineral/gaz ware in your station cargo (manual transfer or wait for automatic unloading?)
10) Minimal skill requirements needed for mining ship?

Again this is to be able to have mining ship actually mining constantly for a station I built that has no production modules or at least solar pannels. Ships were not doing anything. Curently testing with default behavior before assigning to station ....

1) yes (Although there may be new options in the station logistic network that allows you to just make a mining warehouse. I'd have to check)
2) yes
3-4) Doesn't matter, although if your mining ship has cargo, it should be some ware that the mining station will use, otherwise it will remain in the ship's cargo hold unless you clear it out manually
5) Assigning a ship to a station overules default behavior, so it's not an issue.
6) Does not matter. Your ship could be the whole universe away. It will make it's way to the station it's assigned to
7) S/L storages are needed for the whole system to work, but you can assign your ships even without the storage. They will simply be unable to drop their wares
8 ) I actually have no clue. I usually have some resources mapped out when I assign my ships, but they tend to wander off where ever they please no matter what.
Humans are deuterostomes, which means that when they develop in the womb the first opening they develop is the anus.
This means that at one point you were nothing but an asshole.

Some people never develop beyond this stage.

i am slightly annoyed with resources that are visible when mining manually but not shown on the map due so it can't auto mine.

re 8 ) Pre-scanned resource fields aren't needed. They go where ever they like to get resources for their parent station.
You can drop no probes anywhere, and the ship will still mine within it's range limit from the station (off-hand 1 to 5 gates travel).
