There is a unknown (to me) key/mouse button combination I am doing that "sticks" the cursor to the map every now and then. When I move the mouse it pans the map. I can't work out how to undo it.
Any ideas?

Are you playing 3.0 Beta? If so then take a look at this thread in the Beta Feedback forum which discusses this exact issue, and suggests a workaround as well as asking people to try and help work out the exact circumstances in which it occurs.
