Ship Mods !

Can someone please explain in simple terms how you apply the venture gained mod’s to your own ship.
All I can do is change the colour of my ships !

The rest are unavailable ?

I have a huge pile of Mod stuff, but all are greyed out when at the Bench.

Is there some silly thing I am missing to use these ever increasing teasers.

Please in simple terms,, as I am obviously too thick to work it out for myself.

Have you researched modding the relevant ship components as enabled via the PHQ Science Lab conversation?

Played for a year now, and haven't bothered with PHQ

Do I have to do that ?

You also need the PHQ research to allow you to get most of the station module blueprints from scanning normal dataleaks or maybe even hacking modules with EMP bombs.

I haven't bothered at all with trying to scan for blue prints, As your rank increases and the cash floods in , blue prints are easy and relatively cheep just to buy off the shelf. I have all Blueprints for all modules and ships.

It seems I need to follow that green thing around for a while, But if it involves any fighting along the way I will not do it.

I run with no guns, and do not fight.

Also if it involves dropping Navigation beacons, I probably will not do that too. As I find that flashing blink of light in a sector a real nuisance. ( they are so irritating )

EMP bombs ! Never used one !


Is there an alternate way to activate ship Mods ?

I have all of the wares needed to add the enhancements to my ships at each level and completed all of the research, however when I try to install enhancements it only says I have to uninstall the only mod I was able to install and I can't go further. Can you only have one mod on a ship at a time ? Why do you have to remove the previous mod before installing another? I could only install one basic mod for Hull strength.

Your looking for a crafting bench .. but not the crafting bench you make caviar at.
the bench is the only place where mods can be installed

iirc I found the correct bench at an equipment dock & wharf

as for the mods
tier 1 -- ventures, combat wreckage & mission rewards
tier 2 -- ventures & mission rewards
tier 3 -- ventures

You do realize you can turn them off, right? And even pick back up?..

You can only apply one mod of each type to a vessel; i.e. one mod to the hull, one to the engine, one to each weapon, one to each turret (on bigger ships), one to the ship shields, and one to each turret group shield (on bigger ships).
