Normally I start building a megaplex within the first 4-6 hours of the game and it takes 6 days or so to complete. (I've restarted so many times because quite frankly, the end game is somewhat lacking and I love the game so much)
Typically i first make a string of hull parts and associated buildings - this provides 2 of the 3 necessary resources to build everything else. Next I build up a claytronics, and thus have all necessary building materials.
Usually I end up buying 3 L freighters and endlessly haul between building supplies and that base. Honestly, this is the WORST part of the game. Has anyone found any way of automating this without mods? I was wondering if i left my building funds at zero and turned off the selling of clay/hull at the base if i could have them trade for build supplies since they are "free" - has anyone tried this or found additional methods of solving the labor?

To me it seemed the only way to control station traders targets is via proximity and that trade with player asset only flag.
Curious if there is a better way of establishing supply lines in 2.6

Once a station Manager takes control of the allocated station traders, you are out of control !
The ships sell what you don't want to sell, they buy what the station is producing, and usually in small amounts that beggars belief.
You can try altering the buy sell part in overview, but I still can not figure out if that is a percentage, or a price, or a stock level. It is very confusing indeed.
Someone needs to to do a How it all works video, This part of the game is so very confusing as to what is happening, why, and what you need to do.

Initially I was to open my own topic to rant a little about exact this issue. Now I found a quite recent one confirming my intentions to complain.
There are a lot of commands in X4 that I never even looked at and there where commands in X3 I deemed not-to-be-missed in any proper 4X game. And yes, most definitely an automatic, immediate and especially a WORKING transfer of wares to to-be-constructed stations is most definitely NOT IN THE GAME *looks at Egosoft*. It's that bad, that not even moders are able to properly implement a working solution (look up Stations Supply Build Storage in Nexus for anyone trying to fix it to a degree).
Can you please, please, please, Egosoft, just insert a script that at least makes a command infinitely repeatable. Put a option for a criteria to exit or to wait in the loop. i.e. wait for X-number of Items before you go and ship it. Or even better, actually let the assigned trade ships look for stations the player is constructing and deliver available resources from their station ASAP - not after an hour... or three. It seems this is near to impossible to implement... sad story. really! Put the damn DLC on hold. Don't need the split. Or Boron... was asking for Terrans anyways. I need a scalable way to properly transfer my wares within my empire. please?
