Well after 3 days of downloading the FL demo on a 56K modem I finally tried it for myself and I think it is not really fair to class it in the same brackett as X2 it is more like independance war or privateer than XT or X2 is going to be
I did like the tractor beam function in FL Is there going to be one in X2 like that (a ship upgrade maybe)

anyway I am looking forward to the X2 demo and will be watching the site closely over the next few days I presume the demo must be imminent now :D :D :D

Unless somebody in the know can tell me different :(

I tried downloading it from 3dgamers.com and it crashed at 91% complete ARRRRGGG  but then typed freelancer demo into google and downloaded it from a microsoft site and file mirror it was a lot faster from there too if there is such a thing as fast on a 56K modwem

I d/loaded using Getright choosing the fastest option but with more risk of corruption just under 8 hours it took when installed it went like a dream.

The only CTD's seem to happen just after launching from the space port :) could be me 'active' desktop cause after the crash it asks me if i want to reset it.

Targeting a ship when it is in orbit and selecting formation gives you a good look at orbiting a planet without having to do it manually, a great touch i thought and well implemented in the game.

On my comp the demo ran as smooth as silk every thing looked smooth i think it will sell well :)
