Game performance slowing down - Unplayable - Improvements in 2.60 beta.
The game is looking like a slideshow. Where I previously had a performance of around and more than 40 Fps dropped to between 10 and 25. It started after the 2.50 update.
I do not have and never used any mod. + 400 hours playing.
I only have 4 stations, 1 Shipyard and 1 Wharf and HQ player. +- 15 trading/mining ships and +- 25 ships in different fleets/tasks(escort/protected)
Changing the graphics options has no effect or performance improvement.
In this file is my save, dxdiag and vulkaninfo

Re: Game performance slowing down - Unplayable.
I'm having similar issues, but mine seem to be mainly on the map.
My FPS and game performance just takes a dive when i open the map but is fine when flying around, even in busy sectors apart from the few minor freezes you get here and there.
My save game was started after the latest patch 2.50, has quite a lot going on but to be honest i feel like the game is only just starting really hope performance gets a boost in the next patch, like i say it's mainly on the map but this is where you spend most of your time.
Save and DXDiag found here.

you could be suffering the 2.5 curse of station spam..100's of food and med sation spam spread across 4 or five sectors and the 4 to six ships it creates for each station. 400 hours would be enough time to do thisPlayer wrote: ↑Sun, 8. So I hope egosoft has a treatment for this curse.

They say they do have a cure and the beta patch is not far off. They sound confident.
I am not expecting a huge impact on the 'core' issue though. Core? As more objects are built by player and NPCs, the game engine finds itself with ever more work to do. But it does not send that extra work to idle cores on player's CPUs. It's a game engine that appears to me to have legacy code written in the days when we were fed the spin than four cores is all we will ever need -- and even further back. Changing the software to use all the resources can be really hard to do for some software and a big investment for a company to make (I am not a programmer mind you, so this is just info I had read about. Managing a crew of 60 in the southern ocean was my trade, but i am retired early now).

But will the fix remove the current spam damage (100's of stations) or just prevent more of the same? If the stations aren't removed then it's 500+ game hours down the pan.AquilaRossa wrote: ↑Tue, 10. Sep 19, 02:47

Re: Game performance slowing down - Unplayable - Improvements coming.
How long does it take(game time) to check whether or not the issue has been fixed with the new 2.60 beta1?
EDIT: Never mind. I just started a new game and FPS is back to normal.
Good job ego and thanks.
Although I'll play a few more hours and see what happens

Re: Game performance slowing down - Unplayable - Improvements in 2.60 beta.
I wish I'd read this thread a few days ago.
I've only just got around to buying Foundations. Every time I've got a new Egosoft game I have to go through drivers with a fine tooth comb and sort seemingly random things, and this time was no different. It's taken three days to sort out issues with my PC that haven't bothered a single program other than X4 - I've had strange driver issues preventing windows from updating itself or drivers it has taken charge of, then I've had to force windows to update to version 1903 which took ages, and I've even got a new CPU cooler (which may not have been needed but has let me overclock to 4.6mhz close to silently on a four year old rig) to try fix a stuttering issue that was actually caused by certain drivers not wanting to work with the windows version I had.
My past experiences of Egosoft games led me to hold back getting X4 until patch 2.5 because they've usually fixed most things by then...just my luck that it appears I'm a patch early.
