When looking through the statistics, I just realized that there are ranks just as in X3. Do they have matter though? Does missions scale according to rank, or do they have any other meaning? I can't remember ever seeing a notification of gaining ranks...

As far as I am aware the only purpose they have currently is for unlocking achievements. There is a reason those achievements are sitting at 0% last I checked...

I can only imagine the what it would take to get rank x-treme in combat. In fact, no one has even gotten to rank 16 to get the first achievement, rank x-treme is 25. Over 10000 kills in one playthrough, mostly from farming khaak hives for mod parts, and the highest I've ever gotten is marksmen which is rank 12.

Talking about achievements it's also weird that 5% has the explore all sectors.. are there some hidden sectors that are not obvious to find, or this one is buggy..?

I would say that you will need to own the future DLCs in order to complete that one.


And afaik, trade and fight ranks do not have an impact like in previous games (mission balancing) mainly because of how missions are set up.

5% seems a bit too much for pre alpha dlc testing. Esp for the 2nd dlc which i assume is in design phase at best.

Pity, sounds so simple to adjust AI military action frequency and fleet size according to fight rank.

It is likely that achievements are disabled with mods. Hence a lot of players have explored every sector but since they are running modified games it did not count towards the achievement.

I have all but 3 achievements. The 2 Xtreme ranks and the first rank combat one. I suspect combat ranks depends heavily on ship used so shooting up Kahak in an L destroyer gives practically nothing.
