Reverse boost
More than once as I have been zipping past a station or ship at high travel velocities have I thought to myself, "gee it would be nice if I could have a reverse booster to slow me down quickly!" Just like a forward booster, it could use shield power to allow me to quickly slow the ship down. Perhaps since it does not use the main engines, it could have twice the slow down power compared to the forward boost.

Re: Reverse boost
You mean, to slow down even faster than after hitting the brakes (i.e. backspace)? I think turning around and just boosting/using travel drive helps, although I haven't timed it to be sure. I mean, it should, but who knows exactly how that mechanic is programmed. You can always flip around fast if you disable flight assist.

I do the whole flight assist off/flip around/flight assist on, which can slow me down pretty quick, especially in fighters (less useful in large ships). Or flip around, then boost.
But I am talking about instances where I want to slow down, but not necessarily change my direction.

Re: Reverse boost
In X Rebirth the Teladi capitals had several engines forward-mounted concentrically around the bow, so they would logically have a great straight line reverse boost.
